Hi Kimbo As far as we understand it, it arrived in Australia yesterday (somewhere in Australia). They say a week before we have to pay for it and then they will have it for another few days to a week to ming, and put on all the accessories. We gave them a list of all the things we want on. Our salesman is pricing the list out for us for approval, and gathering all the bits up from the respective places/manufacturers, and they will be installed at Toyota. I guess it could be two weeks before we get to bring it home. Cheers Jody

Hi Our 18ft XC .... fully loaded with 4 tanks of water, two cans of fuel, generator and all our goods and chattels came to just undre 3500kg on the weighbridge. Granted we might carry a little more than you in the van as we are travelling full time. Hope this is of some value. Cheers Jody

Our fridge door panels wore out after a couple of years constant use. Kedron replaced them for us when we had some other work done. We are nearly ready for our second replacement, but have not looked to see how to do it yet. Thought we would ask Kedron how to do it when the time comes. Cheers Eric and Jody

Hi Rod and Mavis A couple of questions on your rack. I take it you bought the Hullivator? Do you have to lift the kayak half way up the vehicle to put it on the rack as the picture shows? Did you look a the loaders at Sunstate Hobie? I just checked anb unfortunately they don't have a loader for a 200 yet. Cheers Eric and Jody

Hi We also have the 230l. Van is 5 years old in June this year, has been on the road permanently now for 4 years. They only problem we have had, is loosing the little screw which holds the bottom of the door. A reminder to all to check they are tight occasionally Never broken anything else. We have 3 batteries and 3 panels. Cheers Jody

We have a lightweight foldable aluminum Almac trailer. http://www.almactrailers.com/ It folds up under the boat on top of the car. It is registered for the road but is not recommended to travel over 80km per hour. Tools: 2 sizes of spanners. How long: Takes about 15 minutes to put together. We do not use it on the highway only on smaller roads. When on the highway we have the van behind us, and the trailer up on top of the car. The heavier trailers, I understand can be towed at higher speeds. This is of course a tradeoff, more weight to carry - against speed. We would certainly buy the same again. Have been very happy with it. We use the tinny and trailer when we travel north and the Hobie when we go south. Retailer did not know we even towed a van so no comment there. The need for a trailer is dependent I think on the type of travel you are going to do, and the length of time you are staying in a given place. Eg., if you are only camping by a river, and for a short time, you don’t need a trailer as much. If however, you spend any time in a caravan park, as we do, we use the trailer to move the boat to the boat ramp. You can then leave the vehicle parked with the trailer attached, drive back to camp and leave on trailer till next fishing expedition. We don’t put it back on the car till we are about to more on. Some places we stay up to 2 weeks and would not like to put boat on and off each day. Another option is wheels you attach by clamping on to the side of the boat. If only needing to get boat from campsite to boat ramp these are a reasonable idea. Can only be used to move by hand over shorter distances. Cheers Eric and Jody

Come on guys. How about rubber gloves. :biggrin: We have no problem with the guage, but did break the wire to the fuse and the pump would not work. If the wire to the fuse drops down it catches on the cassette when you remove and replace. Could never get the fuse holder back where it was originally, but got it working again. We also lubricate around the "hole" where the slider goes back and forwards with olive oil when we empty the toilet. Works a treat. Cheers Eric and Jody

Oh dear. Just looked at the link you gave and they don't make them for a 2003 Nissan Patrol... How odd. Might have to wait till we get a Toyota. We need one that can deal with both the Hobie and the Tinny though. Has to be able to be used with both, depending on which way we are going, which one will come along with us. Hi Jeanne and Geoff Have you had your repairs done now? Are you still happy with the repairer. Since I first posted about van repairs, we have added to our list of things we must get done. We arrived at Woodgate following a great few days at Imbul, switched on our hotwater system and found its leaking out of the bottom. Cheers Jody

Eric went fishing today, down on Woodgate Beach. He took the Nissan down with him. Guess what he pulled out of the sea? An F truck with a boat trailer attached. :confused: Probably the most interesting thing he has ever pulled out of the ocean. Blackie the Nissan did it with ease (and the help of a snatchem strap of course). Cheers Jody

We also use the matting that comes from Camec. It's fairly pricey though. It has quite an open weave, does not kill the grass, dirt and sand fall through it and it, can be swept if you get sticks and dead grass on top of it. Does not seem as slippery as some other types and dries quickly if it gets wet. Our daughter had the more rubbery type that looks like a pattern of squares, (came from Bunnings). It was very rubbery and quite slippery. Everything stayed on top of it and it was difficult to sweep clean. She was not happy with it and changed to the Camec one. Cheers Jody

Hello Jeanne and Geoff, Which repairer are you using/talking about? Our Kedron is coming up for 5 years old and there are a couple of things we need looked at. As Kedron do not seem to be the place to go and we will be on Brisbane southside in April for a few weeks, we might try the place you are speaking of. Also check that the yellow lever is in the correct position. If it is in the upright position the water will go straight through. Make sure it is "down". Cheers Jody

Hi Chris I have just skimmed you previous post to find out more about the hot water system you are getting in your new TE. I might have missed it but can't see the brand of the one you are getting. Can you tell me what brand it will be, how many litres it holds and why gas only. Do you know if this brand also available in gas/electric. Cheers Jody
