  1. Hi Dunmowin We wont see you at Birdsville this year, due to finalizing work committments, but we plan to be there next year, we would be interested to know how you get on regarding camp sites, as we believe you cant book them, just wondering how early you need to get there before race day to get a decent site. Happy thoughts Mal & Kerry
  2. Hi Rick If you mean the courtesy light on the outside of the van, we replaced it with an LED bulb, works a treat. We got it from a wholesaler and it cost us about $17.00, recommended retail $25.00. Happy thoughts Mal and Kerry
  3. Hi All We went to Barambah Bush Caravan Park at Murgon on the June long weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it, even though the weather was overcast. This park is worth visiting, they have powered and unpowered sites, generators are not allowed. The park is peaceful with a pleasant outlook and the owners are very friendly, and the birdlife is also friendly, especially the kookaburras. There are fire pits scattered throughout the park, and one communal fire pit that the owner supplies firewood for. The ammenities were extremely clean and well looked after, we will definitely come back to this park again. The Timber museum in Wondai, and the Dairy Museum in Murgon are well worth the visit. Happy thoughts Mal and Kerry
  4. Hi Tolley Thank you for your comments on Barambah Bush Park, we booked it today and are looking forward to it. Happy thoughts Mal and Kerry
  5. Hi all We are going to Barambah Bush Caravan Park in Murgon on the June long weekend, has anyone been there and what did you think of it. We are thinking of visiting the vineyards, and historical buildings of the area, any info would be appreciated. Kerry and Mal
  6. Hi Rousosm We took our ATV 21ft over the weigh bridge yesterday, we have the standard Kedron set up for an ATV which is 3 solar panels, 3 batteries, diesel heater etc., we have included the 2.4kva generator, all the normal cooking gear, Baby Q etc,we were trying to keep things to what we thought was a realistic minimum. But with 2 x 100litres water tanks full and one by 100 litre drinking water tank three quarters full, and probably half the cupboards in the van are empty. Our van weighed in at 3560kgs, obviously the fresh water is the key to your weight problems. In the total weight of 3560kgs there was no food or clothing, which makes us wonder how accurate the original unloaded weight is? The weigh bridge gave us the wrong combination of weights for us to work out our ball weight, but the 200 series and the caravan weighed in at 6440 kgs. Toyota recommends that the 200 series does not exceed 3300kg fully loaded, so if I have a ball weight of 350 kg, I have deducted the weight of van from the total weight of van and vehicle, which tells me that the tug is 2880kg , so if I add the 350kg ball weight to that, it comes at 3230kg, which leaves us with only 70 kgs, so the missus will have to stay home  Just remembered the fuel tank on the tug was only half full, so if I fill the tank up that is roughly another 60kg of fuel, I better stop calcuting otherwise I will have to stay home myself  hopefully you can tell us if I have calculated something wrong. Looking forward tocatching up at Kilkevan Gathering this week-end. Happy thoughts Mal and Kerry
  7. Hi Gilly We have a 200 series TD V8, which we bought in July 2010, we recently took it to Sci Fleet for its 10,000km service. No oil used, no klunk of motor, but tail shaft changing from 1st to 2nd gear was klunking but only slightly( wouldn't call it klunking, just not as smooth changing from first to second gear) the service department at scifleet greased the tail shaft, but it still does it, but only on rare occasions . We are extremely happy with it, it has herds of power, very comfortable, and its has excellent braking in emergencies, as we found out on the week-end when a 9 year old boy on his scooter rode out in front of us. Luckily when we stopped we could see his shocked face looking at us just in front of the bullbar. Happy thoughts Mal and Kerry
  8. Ho Ho Ho Merry Xmas to all, thank you for your help and advice. Now that we have our ATV2 we look forward to seeing you on the road, Hopefully next year the road will have less bumps in it and more shady camp sites for everyone to enjoy along the way. Happy thoughts Mal and Kerry
  9. Hi Sue (Webby) Having lot of trouble to reduce size of photo to avatar size, how can I reduce the photo, Helppppp Mal and Kerry
  10. Picking up our van Arrived at factory 8am friday morning, (what an exciting day) they had about a half an hours work to do to the van, then Graham took us to our van and spent the next four hours going through every single thing explaining how it works, and what to touch and what not to touch, they had made changes on the carpentry side of thing, and moved the microwave over the sink instead of over the stove, included a spice rack at the end of the bench, door entry,on the outside of the shower wall made a cabinet for key rings and magazines. We opted for single beds to gain a bit more space, and a 1800 watt inverter wired in to power points. had a diesel heater fitted, went to a 22" TV. While Graham was explaining the ins and outs of the van, Ben was working on the tow pack on the 200 series cruiser, we had the 6 ton mchitch fitted, camera put on the back of the van, the stud pattern on the van matched to the Cruiser, extra jerry can holder on the A frame and a lot of little extras such as drop down table etc. There a quite a few little changes Kedron have done, and now we cant remember what they were, all we can remember is Graham saying every now and again Merry Xmas something for nothing, if we had known this we would have taken a tape recorder lol. We left the factory at about 12 midday , after a demo run around the block, even though we left early enough to drive straight home, we decided to camp overnight Gympie, and try out our new toys, and celebrate with a bottle of bubbly. Everything worked well, the cruiser towed the van with ease. All in all a very pleasant experience, made more memorable due to the staff at Kedron. Now we have got two weeks to pack van up for our two weeks holiday at Xmas. If someone can tell us how to put photos on the forum, we will do that. We keep looking at it in the backyard, and arhhhhh. Jaygee hope Thursday is very exciting for you also Happy thoughts Mal and Kerry
  11. Sooooooo excited, only 4 sleeps to go before we pick up our NEW ATV2 on Friday. We have to be at Kedron factory about 8am so they can set up the tow pack etc on the 200 series landcruiser. whilst their showing us how everything works. They told us it would be about 1-2pm before we would be able to get away from the factory, so we decided to only travel back as far as Gympie and camp there for the night, then on to Hervey Bay the next morning. Then it will be the fun part of seeing what we can get in the van without going overweight.  Happy thoughts Mal & Kerry
  12. About 3 weeks to completion of our new ATV, Mal went for trip to the Kedron factory, to take some fans down to fit in our van. There were vans everywhere in various stages of completion, there will be some very happy people at Xmas :clown: They had three more chassis waiting to go in and be completed before xmas, they will certainly have their work cut out. Happy thoughts Mal and Kerry
  13. Hi Jaygee The boys at Kedron must have had a change of mind . I was speaking to stan to`day Re our ATV2 also due in Dec, and was told due to the 3.5ton Mc Hitch off road rating, they would be fitting the 6 ton version. Obviousley an adjustment in the price needed but as far as i am conserned well worth it. Regards Mal.
  14. Thanks Jaygee The info was great on upgrades, we will be getting the airbags put in before we get the van. What part of December do you pick up your van, they told us about the middle of December, we may see you there. 20. Hi We went to Caravan and Motorhome show on Friday and Saturday and placed an order on an ATV at the Kedron site, pick up date middle of December, 2010. What a great feeling it was when we placed the order, we also ordered our Landcruiser 200 series. The gall family are so down to earth, and easy to deal with. We will be taking the van away at Xmas. It feels so good knowing we will be able to follow our dream. We sold our house lst and not the business but we will escape for long weekends when we can. We are still pinching our ourselves, wow. Happy thoughts Mal and Kerry
  21. QB Dreamer, Thank you for your input, I have printed out your list of caravan preferences. Happy thoughts Mal and Kerry
  22. To, Chris, Laurie and Helen, Lea and Rick, and Rod and Mavis, thank you all for your valuable input, we are going to include your suggestions to our list. Happy thoughts Mal and Kerry
  23. We have finally sold our house, and with the Brisbane Caravan and Camping show coming up, we will be looking at placing an order for out Keddy. It will be our permanent home as soon as the business is sold. We decided on the ATV 19.6 internal, with some optional extras, single bunks, cafe dining, led lights, dometic vacum flush toilet, washing machine. What we are asking ,is there anything else we should be thinking of or deleting, before we place the order, because having these things done during the construction of the van is the way to go. Any advice would be appreciated. Happy thoughts Mal and Kerry
  24. Thank you all for your comments and advice, it all hinges on the sale of our business, but Kedron is 99.9% our choice, yes the layout will be important , as we are planning to sell everything up, it will be our home, and we will be living in it for as long as our bodies will allow us. Happy thoughts Mal and kerry
  25. Hi All We are new to forum, my name is Mal and the wifey is kerry, at the moment we have out business on the market, and then we will sell our house to pursue our dream of travelling around australia. we have been looking at lots of vans and are very keen on the kedrons, we would like to do a bit of off road, we have been to factory and sales yard and were impressed how well they are manufactured. We decided that the ATV 19.6 inside would possibly be the one we would choose. The only thing that was of concern was they only offered a 12 month warranty, have any one had dramas with same Happy thoughts Mal and Kerry :helpsmilie:
