  1. Don't forget to enjoy the chocolate, very tasty. If you like espresso as in short black they will make it for you on request. It is a good work out for you bladder as well. Cheers Merv
  2. Sorry to hear that Peter & Margaret you have missed out on a magical trip, but you are right there is always next year. We took a punt and went early and the weather gods favoured us only to be hit with the rain luckily after we got back down to Cairns. Current sitting in a comfortable unit in Caloundra after dropping off the van at Kedron for a few repairs. Had a great dive on the Great Barrier Reef 25 k's out on a dive boat for three days and a superb dive on the ex HMAS Brisbane out from Mooloolaba. I hope you trip gets better for you both. Cheers Merv
  3. Hi Mark and Simone. I am very curious as you reasons for not getting that "service" @ $650.00 ever again? Obviously well over priced for what was done? Cheers Merv
  4. Welcome to the forum and start enjoying your new van. I asked the same question some time back now and have since used a cut down piece of clip together foam mat that is just the right thickness between the fly wire door and the outer door. We used this on our current trip to the top of the Cape and it worked quite well. Red dust every where else though, but that is just part of the fun. Cheers Merv
  5. Prices have ranged from $1.70 in Laura to $2.40 at Jardine and the top.
  6. Hi Rod & Sue We have just got back from our trip to the top and are currently sitting resting in Wonga Beach. Both the truck and van are filthy red and probably will be for some time. We have passed three other Keddies heading north so you won't be be alone up there, the road is good with the southern section below Archer River a little rough so keep your eyes open. The northern section is as smooth as a babies bottom with the occasional nail biter. We averaged approx 80kph for most of the trip. We stayed at Punsand Bay and had a great time, checked out Loyalty Beach but couldn't stand the smell the other good camp is at Siesia near the wharf. Have a great trip. Battle Camp Road should be open at the end of the month and Bloomfield is hairy, stay off Cheers Merv & Di
  7. Three hundred kilos over weight if the van is rated at 3500kgs max. I hope you have had it re rated and tow it with something big. Cheers Merv
  8. On our way, currently in Bourke and wearing the snow suit, it is that cold. Had two Keddy's pass us south bound yesterday heading towards Cobar. Hope they have a great trip where ever they are going. Cheers Merv
  9. Another vote for Waeco. No doubt there are good and bad in all brands but from what I have read about the various fridges that are now in vans I don't think you could go past the current Waeco. Cheers Merv
  10. It sounds like there might be a lot of Kedrons up there at the end of May. We are heading north at the end of next week from Melbourne and we hope to catch up with other KOGers on the Cape. Cheers Merv
  11. Thank you John and Steve Mine still has the original 20's and I am waiting for a guy in the States to get back to me with a set of OEM 18's. I got sick and tired of trying to get a set here and I refused to pay what was being asked which was exorbitant. North bound at the end of the month..... Cheers
  12. Hi JK Are you running 18's or 20's on the Chev? Cheers Merv
  13. Hi Greg and Cathy Don't forget to upgrade your tow ball mount to greater than 3.5t if you have upgraded your van's weight above the 3.5t limit. We have just changed our van's rego over to Victoria from QLD for a considerable saving and it was one the items singled out for inspection by the Vic Roads Officer. Van is now rated 3.95t. our tow ball mount is 4.5t purchased from Towbars Australia in Nambour. Cheers Merv
  14. Auto coupler is due at the end of the month, son in law has three on order. That was the latest update as of last week from the manufacturer/supplier. Crossed safety chains is a legal requirement right across the Country and has been for many years. It was one of the many things that we inspected for when doing road checks on trailers along with towing mirrors and I would love a dollar for everyone I booked for not having them. Cheers Merv
  15. just like health insurance, don't leave home without it in our big back yard. Cheers Merv
  16. Hi Tony If it has been 'fixed' at the factory 6 weeks ago give them a ring to see if they have any suggested repairers in Tasmania. They might even be able to tell you the possible location or cause of the leak to make temporary repairs yourself Cheers Merv
  17. I think that you will find it will be your tow bar if you have it in the up position if using a 90mm riser or wdh. It has done it with mine from day one. Take it off and see if the sensors are still playing up. You might find that you can simply give them a part turn if you can get access to them and change the angle depending on which of their canopies you have, otherwise disconnect them.. Cheers Merv
  18. Oz tent King Kokoda, love the lumber support. Cheers

    Dunny

Try turning ON your water pump. Cheers
  20. I just did a search as I thought that I had read about this problem some time ago. Search "Vitrifrigo fridge" and I think everything is there in that post for you. Cheers Merv
  21. I good forum to get onto for any information about the Chevrolet Silverado is:- www.duramaxforum.com Cheers Merv
  22. Hi Danny I asked the same question when I bought our Chev and was told not to bother as the filter is very easily replaced or drained of water if needed. Ours is a 2012 model with very easy access to the filter. Just carry a spare just in case. Cheers Merv
  23. Don't they have 10mm rubber feet under them, vibration dampeners. Cheers Merv
  24. Interesting to read as I specifically spoke to Kedron about this very topic and was told straight out that you are far better off carrying your generator in the back of your tow vehicle to counteract the added tow ball weight. Interesting to hear comments. Cheers Merv
  25. Hi John The easiest way to run your cables will be either through or alongside the chassis rail or one of the floor rails and at the rear of the van a small hole and run it up beside one of the rear wall studs. Us a sturdy fine piece of fencing wire to pull your cable up the wall. Cheers Merv
