Hi John, i wouldn't think there would be a problem, as long as you are 'lifting ' the van at the factory fitted lifting points. Goes without saying that the jack is suitably rated and chock the wheels on the opposite side that your lifting. Stay safe?

Hi everyone, I would like to apologise to all our regulars & casual visitors to this site, unfortunately due to circumstances well beyond our control this site has been 'down' for the past couple days. From what I understand the problem is with the 'host' of this site & they are in the USA. Communication because of time difference makes any simple matter/correspondence drawn out, hence the delay in getting back 'online'. Hi John, No I don't have a 'levelling system'....so cant speak first hand. But in my travels I have seen a couple of setups that get my mind thinking about the possibility. Not that I, and I assume you also, travel like 'The Gall Boys' but having those hydraulic rams under the van greatly reduces your approach & departure angles & also I would think there prone to damage off road. My Xantrex (TC4012) 40amp battery charger died, throwing funny unrecognizable fault codes. Gave it the once over spoke to Xantrex rep's also Springers both were unable to assist. Did some research on a replacement unit, decided on an Enerdrive EN31260 60amp charger, and Springers were the best on price! $660 delivered ordered on Saturday, delivered Tuesday (lunchtime) great service. The Xantex unit was approx eight years old and from day one had been very noisy in operation ....fan noise. The charger is mounted in the front boot not far from my bedhead, the noise & vibration certainly took a bit of getting used to when trying to sleep! This new unit is 50% greater in output (than the Xantrex) so it recharges a lot quicker and with less effort, sure it has only been installed for one day so far but the cooling fan has only come on momentarily & it was sooooo quiet. No extra parts or fittings were need to swap the units over (other than a few cable ties) the Enerdrive unit was easy to 'set up'. Fingers crossed I get many years of peaceful/powerful service from it! Disclaimer I have no association with Springers other than being a happy customer.

Hi Merv, As you can see from the photos, yes I have a bolt and a heavy washer on each side of the McHitch receiver to stop the receiver 'twisting' sideways. I have also welded a length of square bar (10mm) onto the tongue at the 'rear' of the receiver also to stop the 'twisting' Hi Nev, I had never really thought about the 'load' being further back,(than a standard towball) but I guess it is just a little further back....whats an inch or two between friends. I just adjust the air pressure in the hitch (so the arms are level...pump up hitch bag to about 80psi before putting van on, then connect van then drop pressure in hitch bag until 'arms' are level) &......adjust the pressure in the air bags (Air Bag Man) on the rear of the truck I am truly not aware of any extra or undue twisting from this setup, I really can only give very positive feedback as the difference between using the standard Haymen Reece set up compared to the Air Hitch is chalk and cheese! I, most of the time add either 2 stroke or ATF to my fuel tank when refilling (as previously mentioned).....to date I have not had any 'dramas' (touch wood), if this report/link is correct (not doubting it isn't) maybe over the upteen years I have been doing so...... I may have been wasting my money......maybe it is a placebo effect! Stay safe & thanks for the info

Hi Leon, I would like to echo Merv's comments......your a lucky chap! If you get an accessory fuel filter consider a 30 micron filter fitted BEFORE the factory filter.....something like this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Diesel-fuel-filter-water-separator-universal-pre-filter-Common-Rail-Diesel-Kit-/401318441627?hash=item5d7071729b:g:EsgAAOSwT-FZBtx6 they are relatively easy to fit & plumb up. Fitting one of these will extend the service life of the factory filter (which are expensive) change the accessory filter say every 2nd oil change for about $30....cheap insurance. If your still at Gosford, jump on the M1 and give the truck 'a flogging' (so to speak) to give it a good clean out! Re silicon sprays, don't believe they will cause any problems (hardening)....but using silicon/silastic type adhesives/sealants during component assembly can cause problems with O2 sensors....the fumes given off during the curing process cause the problems! Re fuel.....95% of all fuel is now imported (Singapore) regardless of 'brand' it all comes from the one depot and depending on brand additives they are added/blended whilst the delivery truck is being filled.....fuel from the depot you can bet your right testicle will be clean.....contaminants are picked up from servo underground tanks regardless of brand. Always look for fuel at outlets that would have a high stock/fuel turnover!....you would have to be very unlucky to pick a load of bad fuel. Adding extra 'additives' to your fuel.....make up your own mind.....myself,..... diesel fuel in Oz is Ultra Low Sulphur content, making it a very dry fuel. To every tank full (250L) of fuel I use, put in 1/2 liter of two stroke oil or auto trans oil (cheapest available) just to increase the fuel lubricity......works for me. Travel safe, CU down the road.

When I'm parked up, I open the external fridge 'service' access door a few inches (halfway) to promote better air circulation.....works for me!

Hi, I was just listening to the arvo programme on the ABC (Brisbane) Programme host started talking about a girl who was with her grandmother when she (grandmother) had a fall and injured herself. The granddaughter called 000 and the operator talked her through the process of downloading 'Emergency +' on her smartphone. This app gave the ambo's the GPS coordinates of her exact location, so they could attend and perform the marvellous work/service that they do! My suggestion, go to the App store do a search for Emergency + and download (its free) from this app you can access 000 (ambo's fire & police) the SES & the police assistance line (non urgent) where ever you have phone coverage. When you download this app and you go to the homepage your GPS coordinates are there so you can relay them to the operator for quicker (hopefully) response! This will/would be very beneficial when your travelling in an area that your not familiar with This app is available for both IOS & Android. Stay safe!
