    Roof leak

Hi Mal, $2013.00 return &(booked four months ahead) that includes a cabin on the return evening trip to the mainland ( no cabin on the way over ....day trip) Suggest you go to the 'Spirit of Tasmania' site & do a costing exercise as there are MANY different prices depending on the season. within reason...... whatever it costs .....it's worth it........ an absolute minimum over here is six weeks.....we may extend! We r here in Tasmania's summer and it is somewhat cool.....(beautiful days though)..don't think I would like to here in any other season than summer....... autumn & WINTER would be (swear) cold

    Roof leak

Hi Laurie & Mal, I removed the A/C interior cover assembly & the associated tin ware (ducting) to access the mounting bolts for the unit. The mounting/securing bolts were not tight & they weren't loose either (if u know what I mean). There no no obvious water tracking signs, but there appeared to be a couple places that where lacking in silicon, so I applied a few runs of the right stuff in the appropriate places.........tightened up the mounting bolts & reassembled the ducting & cover assemblies. All I have to now is wait for it to rain & keep my fingers crossed that I have fixed my leak ...... with ur assistance .... thank you. Tassie is such a beautiful place SO much to c & do as Steve has indicated.... we may extend our stay...... just as a side note for any one considering coming over here from the mainland January through to April is definitely the best time to come weather wise...... It's amazing actually peak tourist time here..... lots of vans & motorhomes etc around but still PLENTY of space & no queues anywhere to speak of.......such a change from coastal Qld & NSW CU down the road......
  3. Hi Neville, Have a look at www.exploroz.com.au (Forum) & do a search there..... from memory the aluminium frame of the van causes or contributes to a lot of interference. For what it's worth I have a Polaris camera hard wired in my van then had the radio bloke connect it up to the sterio...... works a treat!

    Roof leak

Thanks Laurie, I will have a look at the A/C unit mounting points as you have mentioned, although 'the leak' is coming through a join in the roof paneling approx 1 meter away from the A/C unit, the water could be tracking/running on the topside of the roof panel... Still looking for any other suggestions....any about? Thanks in anticipation

    Roof leak

Hi all, Hoping some one can assist with the name of a suitable repairer in the Hobart, or east coast area of Tasmania. Unfortunately my roof still has a leak (same spot) after being looked at the factory (Brendale) 6 weeks ago)...... I'm worried the the roof sheet will delaminate and look terrible. Thanks in advance EDIT My lovely lady has suggested that I edit my post & make it a little clearer...... My or should I say OUR van is coming up to seven years of age, roof sealing at that age is a maintenance 'matter', Ashley did have a look at the roof 6 weeks ago and applied silicon in a couple of suspect spots...... and as usual practise with the guys @ Brendale there was no charge for this. Since leaving the factory, we have had no rain ....... so haven't been able to test the result of Ashley's endeavours.......a couple of nights ago we had a downpour & unfortunately the leak is still there :-( I spoke to Tom (in service) about this ....he couldn't supply the name of a 'Kedron recommended' repairer down here so this is why I put this post up.
  6. Not that I have a problem with moisture in my van but...... what great idea using the moisture pots
  7. Steve I'm shocked .... ' coon art'. only joking Edited 16:05 3/2/14 Would readers PLEASE note that MY comment/reply to 'Steve' was before he or admin edited his original post.......thank you!
  8. Found this on another website...... to good not to share Yesterday my daughter-in-law again asked why I didn't do something useful with my time. Talking about my "doing something useful" seemed to be her favorite topic of conversation. She was "only thinking of me" and suggested I go down to the senior center and hang out with the guys. I did this and when she came over yesterday I decided to teach her a lesson about staying out of my business. I told her that I had joined a parachute club. She said, "Are you nuts? You 're almost 72 years old and you're going to start jumping out of airplanes?" I proudly showed her that I even got a membership card. She said to me, "Good grief, where are your glasses! This is a membership to a Prostitute Club, not a Parachute Club." Gosh !!! I'm in trouble again, and I don't know what to do... I signed up and paid for five jumps a week," I told her. She fainted.
  9. I believe that the same guy (tounge in cheek) that developed this 'rust preventer' ALSO had a hand in producing Peter Brock's (RIP) Magnetic Resonance Modulator........ Laugh out loud
  10. After washing & spin drying the cushion covers on the front verandah chairs I refit the covers while they are 'still wet'.... works for me.... havent got around to 'washing' my leather covered cushions in the van....LOL

  16. Hi John & Jo, Currently on the road with the van, but travelling mainly on the black top @ the moment. As such it is somewhat difficult to say that YES it does work. But I have been happy with the lack off dust I've had on the couple of hundred k's of dirt since installation of this deflector. I have never been able to master the black art of posting pictures on this site........ If u pm me with ur phone number or reply to zero four one two 415466 I will send you a couple of photos
  17. There were these three girls who were getting married and they all met at the marriage counsellor’s office to discuss the options of having or not having a baby right away. They were two city girls and one farm girl. The counsellor asked them if they planned on having a baby right away or were going to wait awhile. They all said that they had discussed this with their potential husbands and had all agreed to wait awhile. Well, the counsellor asked the first girl what type of birth control she planned to use. Her answer was, “The rhythm method”. “That will work,” said the counsellor, “but only if you keep a good record.” He asked the second girl what system she planned on using. “I plan on using birth control pills” she said. Again he said, “Yes that will work as long as you don 't forget to take them”. He then asked the farm girl what system she was planning on using. Her answer was, “The bucket and saucer method.” After a short delay, he told her that should also work. He asked them all to come back in one year on a specific date for a follow up on how things were going. They all met again one year later and the two city girls were pregnant. Only the farm girl was still slim and trim. Well, the counsellor asked the first girl what method she used and what went wrong. She replied, “I used the rhythm method but somehow got my notes mixed up and, well here I am, going to have a baby.”' He asked the second city girl what method she used and she replied, “The birth control pill . But we were camping one weekend and I didn't have my pills with me and as you can see, I too am going to have a baby.” He turns to the farm girl. “I vaguely remember you were going to use the bucket and saucer method. Now I must admit that I don 't have a clue what the bucket and saucer method is. Will you explain it to me as I see it has worked well for you.” She replied, “Well, we always make love standing up, and since I am quite a bit taller than my husband, he stands on a bucket turned upside down. Now as we are making love, I watch his eyes, and when his eyes get as big as saucers ..... “I kick the bucket out from under him”.

    Generator

For my two bobs worth.... I wouldn't be carrying/storing ANY petrol/diesel powered machine including jerry cans in the back of my tow vehicle.... unless it was a ute or similar (as in passenger area, completely separate to storage area)
  19. Hi Merv, In my case I have a 200 series.... the vehicle is rated to tow (my understanding) a max of 3.5 tonnes standard without any suspension upgrades or rerating.... so fitting a 4 or 4.5 tonne 'hitch' makes sweet 'FA' difference. (Although my vehicle has rear air bags & a brake upgrade.... to make me feel better AND improve the vehicles capabilities....I doubt that will do much to cool the heals of an RTA/RMS, police or insurance assesor.... I consider myself to be a responsable person....leaving myself open for flack here) I continue to tow my van.... possibly like you 'waiting' to be pulled up & acting innocent & saying ..... who me.... what are you talking about!!!!
  20. Hi Tolley, Kevins getting desperate.... wonder what else he will 'give away' b4 Saturday???? I like Ricks line of thought
  21. Slightly OT.... The boys at Brendale build a great product, but with all the feedback & constantly handing out new latches, you would think that they would have come up with a 'new' latche system
  22. Hi, Im not familar with the P2 but in my last three vehicles I have had the P3... before that I used an Aussie made/designed unit (cant remember the name) chalk & cheese in difference the P3 is definately the way to go I couldnt be happier with it....
  23. WEIRD........... But Very Interesting!!! Enjoy!!!! Homographs are words of like spelling but with more than one meaning. A homograph that is also pronounced differently is a heteronym. You think English is easy?? I think a retired English teacher was bored...THIS IS GREAT! Read all the way to the end................. This took a lot of work to put together! 1) The bandage was wound around the wound. 2) The farm was used to produce produce. 3) The dump was so full that it had to refuse more refuse. 4) We must polish the Polish furniture.. 5) He could lead if he would get the lead out. 6) The soldier decided to desert his dessert in the desert.. 7) Since there is no time like the present, he thought it was time to present the present. 8) A bass was painted on the head of the bass drum. 9) When shot at, the dove dove into the bushes. 10) I did not object to the object. 11) The insurance was invalid for the invalid. 12) There was a row among the oarsmen about how to row. 13) They were too close to the door to close it. 14) The buck does funny things when the does are present. 15) A seamstress and a sewer fell down into a sewer line. 16) To help with planting, the farmer taught his sow to sow. 17) The wind was too strong to wind the sail. 18) Upon seeing the tear in the painting I shed a tear.. 19) I had to subject the subject to a series of tests. 20) How can I intimate this to my most intimate friend? Let's face it - English is a crazy language. There is no egg in eggplant, nor ham in hamburger; neither apple nor pine in pineapple. English muffins weren't invented in England or French fries in France. We take English for granted. But if we explore its paradoxes, we find that quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig.. And why is it that writers write but fingers don't fing, grocers don't groce and hammers don't ham? If the plural of tooth is teeth, why isn't the plural of booth, beeth? One goose, 2 geese. So one moose, 2 meese? One index, 2 indices? Doesn't it seem crazy that you can make amends but not one amend? If you have a bunch of odds and ends and get rid of all but one of them, what do you call it? If teachers taught, why didn't preachers praught? If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat? Sometimes I think all the English speakers should be committed to an asylum for the verbally insane. In what language do people recite at a play and play at a recital? Ship by truck and send cargo by ship? Have noses that run and feet that smell? How can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same, while a wise man and a wise guy are opposites? You have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a language in which your house can burn up as it burns down, in which you fill in a form by filling it out and in which, an alarm goes off by going on. English was invented by people, not computers, and it reflects the creativity of the human race, which, of course, is not a race at all. That is why, when the stars are out, they are visible, but when the lights are out, they are invisible. PS. - Why doesn't 'Buick' rhyme with 'quick' ? You lovers of the English language might enjoy this . There is a two-letter word that perhaps has more meanings than any other two-letter word, and that is 'UP.' It's easy to understand UP, meaning toward the sky or at the top of the list, but when we awaken in the morning, why do we wake UP ? At a meeting, why does a topic come UP? Why do we speak UP and why are the officers UP for election and why is it UP to the secretary to write UP a report? We call UP our friends. And we use it to brighten UP a room, polish UP the silver; we warm UP the leftovers and clean UP the kitchen. We lock UP the house and some guys fix UP the old car. At other times the little word has real special meaning. People stir UP trouble, line UP for tickets, work UP an appetite, and think UP excuses. To be dressed is one thing, but to be dressed UP is special. A drain must be opened UP because it is stopped UP. We open UP a store in the morning but we close it UP at night. We seem to be pretty mixed UP about UP! To be knowledgeable about the proper uses of UP, look the word UP in the dictionary. In a desk-sized dictionary, it takes UP almost 1/4th of the page and can add UP to about thirty definitions. If you are UP to it, you might try building UP a list of the many ways UP is used. It will take UP a lot of your time, but if you don't giveUP, you may wind UP with a hundred or more. When it threatens to rain, we say it is clouding UP. When the sun comes out we say it is clearing UP. When it rains, it wets the earth and often messes things UP. When it doesn't rain for awhile, things dry UP. One could go on and on, but I'll wrap it UP, for now my time is UP, so.......it is time to shut UP! Now it's UP to you what you do with this email.
  24. Hi Richard, A little OT .... But how are the mirrors?
