TonyH Posted September 23, 2015 Report Posted September 23, 2015 Just googled 'diesel heater fuel tank cap'RV Parts Express page came up........frigging hell they want $56........ better get the one from Kedron. As your van is only 'young' I would speak nicely (not that you haven't) to Ashley & as this item isn't what I would call a popular/regular consumable item, he may be able to 'wangle' one from Dometic for you as in a warranty claim. It is unusual for a cap to split..........have you been over tightening it?DOMETIC FUEL TANK CAP FOR DIESEL HEATER. Merv and Di Posted September 23, 2015 Report Posted September 23, 2015 H Donna & Al Just check to see if the cap is the same size as the caps on the plastic jerry cans, might be a cheaper option. Cheers Merv Quote
Nev and Penny Posted September 23, 2015 Report Posted September 23, 2015 The cap needs a breather hole. Try Dometic Unit 2, 129 South Pine Rd, Brendale, QLD, 4500phone (07) 3205 7599 Cheers Nev Quote
Donna and Al Posted September 24, 2015 Author Report Posted September 24, 2015 Thanks every one. It's in the sun all day, and unfortunately we had just been to Kedron, five weeks ago, and now just noticed it split. Just thought someone else may have replaced one. 1 Quote

Jaap Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 HelloNot all cox caps apparentlyI purchased cox part #COPCF01 and it doesn't fit, another $25.00 wasted !!! Quote
Beejay Posted October 3, 2015 Report Posted October 3, 2015 Our cap has also split in a number of places, in fact it seems that it is just breaking down. I believe it is a problem with the quality of material used in manufacture. Many of the Camec products fitted in our van that are exposed to sunlight have deteriorated. It appears that they haven’t been manufactured to cope with the UV level in OZ. We have been on the road since the end of Feb so I was forced to carry out repairs with a new product called "Rapid Fix" which comprises a powder and a liquid like super glue but when mixed with the powder they claim it is similar to welding the plastic. So far so good. It isn’t a problem with overtightening. The price quoted by Camec is in line with all their prices - way over the top. I will be looking for a replacement cap when we return home in Dec so it would be good to learn where a suitable cap can be purchased at a reasonable price. Perhaps overseas sources may be an answer as they have a lot of diesel heaters in their vehicles in USA and Europe. Quote
Merv and Di Posted October 3, 2015 Report Posted October 3, 2015 Has anyone tried the power tool (chain saw etc) specialty shops, they just might be able to assist... Cheers Merv Quote
