  1. Happy New Year one and all! Can't wait to find out what the new year has in store for you both Rod & Mavis - lots of lovely travel hopefully
  2. I hope he said "let's go!" Oh and thank you of course. Great shirt
  3. From Ian & Sue over here in sunny WA - Merry Christmas to all We wish you all the best for Christmas, a prosperous New Year and may you all have plenty of time to get out there in your Kedrons.
  4. Them there are fighting words to some Hmmm.... I thought they had a familiar look about them.. Sue
  5. I just read your dilemma out to Ian- we really love the way you write and felt really horrible giggling at the descriptiveness and you can have the last laugh if it happens to us. When we finally got up off the floor Ian suggested that perhaps the unit is claimable under your insurance policy. Thanks for the fly screen tip - it is well worth the effort as those frogs do get into some funny places. Sue
  6. Ah the dreaded Pilbara froggy! We remember him well! A couple of years back we had a brand new home here in Karratha with brand new split system aircons (as opposed to the clanky old HI kind) we thought we were in heaven until on very hot day when the mail house unit stopped. :-( As you know getting a tech out in Karratha is a bit of a mission in itself but one did finally arrive. We weren't too bothered it was going to cost us much as being a new system it was well and truely in warranty! Hmmm... opens the top and there he was, just lying there all dehydrated like across the motherboard, an $800 motherboard at that! Fortunately for us the technician saw the funny side and told Daiken that the motherboard had failed but didn't say why so no cost to us. Phew... On another note we are leaving next Friday morning, towing our Keddy (a white one with blue stripe) you guys will probably pass us on one of my many connivence stops! I have my cappuccino machine and plenty of capsules so join us for a cuppa. Safe travels - might see you around Geraldton.
  7. Loved it! Now if only it would rain up here so that we had some mud I would rip on over to the local mudflats and try it out! I am sure our Cruiser and Keddy would last heaps longer than they did! Hmmm... what is that you say dear?????
  8. Welcome to the forum Hunter Gatherer. I too give my full support to Rick response. Tony is a wonderful person and wouldn't mean harm to anyone - this section of the forum is for around the campfire humour and his post is to be taken as exactly that. It would indeed be a very sad world if everything we say and write has to be so heavily censored that we can't have to occassional laugh. It is never meant to offend - heaven forbid I am the worst at bagging blondes and pommes and I just happen to be one myself! I live in a remote location and have an extremely limited social life, I rely heavily on the forums as my point of contact with the hobbies I love - Tonys jokes bring a huge smile to my face and help me feel included in the group. If all we could write about is how our electronics are running and how much air we have in the tyres it would be rather dull for this dumb blonde I will give you the nod. We (the KOGGERs) would love you to come along to some of our gatherings and meet us all in person some day, you would then find that you probably could not meet a better bunch of caring generous people. Cheers Sue
  9. Looks like you have too much time on your hands Tony! Pollitically incorrect as it is - I love it, hillarious
  10. Tony - I am trying to enjoy retirement but Ian just couldn't stay clear of work! :-( Hopefully his contract which is supposed to finish on December 31st will not go on too much longer than that, she says thinking pigs will fly first!
  11. Phew.... I thought it was probably only this little West Aussie duck that didn't know where Noccundra Pub was located Sounds like a great spot just got even better says she as I jot down the details for future reference. Looking forward to coming back over east and checking it out. Thanks Alan & Liz - and Rod & Mavis for the link. Cheers Sue
  12. I laughed so much I couldn't drink my coffee. Now I will have to cut and paste it into an email and give Ian a thrill! Thanks Tony - it is great to start the day with a good belly laugh! Cheers Sue
  13. Hi I & D Congratulations on the birth of your new "baby" - may she give you many years of very happy travels and many, many glorious memories. I too look forward to seeing your photos, I am so nosey - I love looking at other peoples Kedrons. If you are ever over in the West please do look us up, we always have a spot for a fellow Keddy owner. Cheers Sue
  14. Hi Sue It is only a waste when people sit around thinking about putting in a submission and don't do it. Good on you for submitting your thoughts and also for bringing it our attention. I am going to sit down this evening and read through the PDF, jotting down notes as I go and then will join you in having a say. If we say nothing then things may not change, and perhaps they might not anyway BUT at least we can say we made an effort eh? Cheers Sue
  15. Sounds like a highlight to a wonderful trip. Enjoy!
  16. AND he is soooo much better looking than Tom Cruise too!
  17. I hope this isn't a taboo subject - so to avoid possibly falling into the advertising category I will not use the commercial name of the place unless I get the all clear. I know when we were at Goomeri one of our esteemed members and his beautiful wife were chatting around the PIG about buying into an RV Village. At the time we thought, Hmmm... nice for them but maybe not for us but the seed was there although I have to say we didn't really look on the internet at that stage. Moving along. Other geocaching friends of ours have been permanently on the road for the past 7 years, never going to buy a home again! Imagine our surprise when I received an email on the weekend saying that they visited a "village" fell in love with it and have made a purchase, moving in in 2014. This triggered the fingers into action and with nothing better to do at the time we went surfing. Our initial reaction is that we like what we see and I have actually emailed away for some more information to satisfy our curiosity. The whole thing has stimulated some thoughts and conversation between Ian and I and I am wondering what you guys think. Things that stand out are that your home and possessions are secure whilst you are travelling and that is very appealing. The location of this particular facility is also a plus. Whilst living in a village with likeminded people sort of appeals to me I do have apprehensions about privacy after coming across a couple a few years ago who lived in an over 55"s retirement place in WA. The chap was probably around 75 years young and was telling us that it was the worst move he had ever made and found he wanted to go off in his caravan all the time to get away from the "home politics". Our conversation has always stayed with me as it obviously quite upset him. Bringing that thought forward to the RV village with its gym, tennis courts, bowling community centre etc etc, I can't help but wonder if what seems good on the surface might cause similar problems for some. Ian and I for example, don't mind socialising occasionally but don't necessarily want to feel that we have to go do something because everyone else is, if you get where I am coming from. Thought I would put it out there as I am really interested to hear what you all think. Meantime I can't wait to see what they send me as I have heaps of questions about what you can and can't do if you buy in. Happy travels all, Sue
  18. An observation from a none too savy mobile phone person. We have a Samsung Galaxy moblie phone about 12 months old. We live in Karratha and I have found that when I am driving up and down to Geraldton if I allow the phone to use the bluetooth handsfree conection to our LC200 I can actually make phone calls in places I can't when I use the phone in the normal manner. I discovered this on a trip back to Karratha last year when I thought as it was getting late I would connect through the bluetooth even though I was till some 200 kilometres from home, I was thinking as I got to the usual point that comes into range (around 35kilometres south) I would give Ian a ring and let him know I nearly back. Ian seems to think there must be some kind of a boost when the phone is used through the car via bluetooth. Hmmmm... another blonde ramble.. Told you I wasn't phone savy that's my excuse for being long winded!
  19. Now a wedding anniversary or Kerrys birthday is a totally different kettle of fish and if she chooses to start planting appropriate leaders (as the stores would call them) a few months (or more) in advance then that is acceptable behavior. If left to the last minute and then put on the spot as to what we would like as a gift, if Kerry is anything like me she has forgotten some of the "good stuff" she thought of months before and ends up with... well good stuff that you have thought of. Hmmm... but that's not the point. We women know when Christmas is and the thrill of the season has well and truely worn off if the stores start broadcasting it's coming in September. So to reiterate - Christmas early - NO ---- Wifes' potential gifts etc --- YES and as many months ahead as she deems necessary. As Ian would say "happy wife, happy life" Well I hope he would say that,I had better ask. Cheers Sue
  20. I see no similarity myself Sue
  21. The stores up here in Karratha like to get their Christmas offerings in early so that we can all buy up and have our presents ready to go out toward the middle of December. Well that is the way it used to be, these days I guess more people are buying online and having their gifts shipped straight to the rellies down south and over east. I went into Kmart earler this week and guess what? They are already stocking Christmas stuff and it is only September! Incredible, do they think we need the extra time or something? I know, it is all about the dollar. Sue
  22. Sounds like he is house -training you already I feel a new van with a kingsized bed coming on!
