  1. I'm after a full travel cover for a 15hp Merc 2 stroke mounted on the A-Frame. What does everyone else use, and how much did it cost? These guys want $245 - ouch! http://www.outboardcovers.com.au/
  2. Finally got the boat and installed the boat loader this weekend. Pretty pleased and not too difficult to install myself. Misses the 200 series' rear sunshield easily, allowing access to the rear while the boat is loaded. Pictures can be found here: Side Boat Loader Pics (Forum doesn't allow me to link all the pics individually) Now all we have to do is use it!
  3. How are the Blacker's going? Where are you?
  4. LOL That's not what you was telling us at Noosa! Now you can move on and enjoy a proper tow vehicle ;-)
  5. I installed the UHF on Friday morning before heading off for the weekend. Sound is crystal clear even though it's installed under the carpet. It's nice just having the mic in view without the clutter. More than happy with the aerial in the kit - was listening to a wide load being towed yesterday and thought they must have been following us (or us following them) since we heard them for so long. Turned out they were coming the opposite way - so fantastic reception. Easy to use and would recommend to others.
  6. Hi Graham & Sue I've discussed this radio with a few people on the KOG group - just about everyone seems to have this one and no one has complained. I haven't installed mine yet, but I have fitted up the aerial last night. There are a LOT of KOG members in Brisbane. You should get along to one of the gatherings. Still space on many of them. http://www.kedronownersgroup.com/gatherings.htm Hope to catch up soon.
  7. UHF arrived in Brisbane from Perth today. Thumbs up to Prestige - can highly recommend them. The "free" aerial looks good too.
  8. Thanks from us too. Ordered a TX3440 bonus pack (includes $95 aerial + cabling) from Prestige for $408 including shipping. Hunted around everywhere on Brisbane northside yesterday and no one was even close ($500 for the unit only at WOW). http://www.prestigecom.net.au/index.php?ma...roducts_id=1537 Ebay prices were about $380 & $390 but by the time you added shipping $25/$30), cost was the same.
  9. Thanks for all of your replies. We've gone with Rob @ RealEzy.
  10. Hi Glen & Deb, We visited Carnarvon Gorge last July. Stayed at Warremba Farm Stay, but they appear to be closed now, which is a pity. They had a great camp kitchen and were only about $16, compared to Takarakka at $35. Takarakka was really busy and many complained it was a dust bowl, but we had a drive through the park and even though it was busy, we noticed there were quite a few grassy sites, so if you can get one of those that'd be good. They have a large camp kitchen area to catch up with other travellers. http://www.takaru.com.au/takaru/index.cfm?...p;pageID=8& We were there after the floods last year - not sure what it's like this year or if they copped the floods. http://photos.bellette.net/content.asp?pho...rnarvon%20Gorge You'll have a great time. We challenged you to do the "big" walk that we were challenged to last year by the retirees - "you guys are young, you can do the bigger walk than us"... Only 22kms, but pretty flat. But get an early start - took us 7 hours return including the side tracks - walk to the end then back talking the side tracks along the way. A bit off topic: We also visited Undara Lava Tubes which was worthwhile but a bit further north (if you're going anywhere near Cairns). There was something on the news last week that the tubes are flooded at the moment with crystal clear water due to the floods this year. They are expected to stay like this for the rest of the year. We're thinking about calling in on our way this year. http://undara.com.au/ http://photos.bellette.net/content.asp?pho...%20Lava%20Tubes Forgot to add: Park map is at http://undara.com.au/getting-here/maps/ We were on site 19 or 20. They were quiet and all sites at that end a drive through.
  11. Thanks for the excellent report, Chris. Kind of missing the red wine stories though - you and Val haven't gone on the wagon, have you? ;-) Not a big fan of sausage rolls but those ones do look good and might be worth a go in the WeberQ - didn't know they could look so easy to make. Keep them coming!
  12. Hey Yoshy & Kerry, I didn't realise you have your trailer on the van - I should have had a look last weekend! Thanks for the info. P.S. At the 4x4 show on Friday, the AirBag Man guys were talking about some lazy axle configured landcruiser they were helping to build and were pretty excited about. Who would do that to their nice shiny new 200? :shades:
  13. Welcome Dave & Shell Good luck with the van and on your travels. Hope to meet up on the road or at a gathering.
  14. Thanks Eric & Jody, Had a look at the almac but I want it highway rated. These are the other ones we've researched so far: http://www.flipneasy.com.au/ (Coopers Plan QLD) http://www.realezytrailers.com.au/ (Maclean NSW) http://www.familyboats.com.au/boattrailers...bulldog/lb.html (bulldog - can't find manufacturer's website) http://www.belcocustomtrailers.com.au/cft.htm (Brendale QLD) Seem to be favouring the realezy at the moment, but will try to have a look at the Belco and flipneasy as they are local to us. Anyone else have any feedback?
  15. I know I've seen a few trailers at KOG meets, but I haven't asked what brand they are! People that come to mind are: Kimbo & Ned Geoff & Deb Shane & Elle Chris & Val? but I'm sure there have been more. My questions are: What trailer do you use? Are you happy with it? Would you buy the same again or buy a different one? Is it easy to put together - how long and how technical? Tools required? Was the supplier helpful and offer suggestions on fitting it on your van? Does it tow well and to highway speeds? In your travels, have you really needed it or has it been just as easy to drop the boat straight in the water? (The Gall boys seemed to do it this way without any problems) Any help most appreciated. (I didn't see any at the 4x4 show)
  16. 4x4 show is on in Brisbane at the moment, so don't miss out on having a look. Got a good deal on the Rhino side loader yesterday at the show. Very impressive and (I'm told) lady friendly, so Jane will be able to get the boat ready while I have a little sleep in.... http://www.rhinorack.com.au/AccSubCategory...rType_1_14.aspx Give me a ring or send a PM if you're interested and I'll tell you who to see for a good price.
  17. Honest! Monday was so nice we considered either leaving the van there and coming up this weekend or having a few extra days off! I actually got a little burnt! I thought Jane was pretty well behaved for a change :drunk:
  18. I don't think I've seen Shane smile so much over a weekend. Nice shiny new van, and nicely customised for his namesake... Good luck Shane and Elle. Hope you enjoy your travels and they come trouble free. Hope to see you on the road soon! Save some fish for us
  19. Thank you Mark & Bernadette for a fantastic weekend. Roast on Saturday night was fantastic, as was dinner on Sunday at the local. While it was a bit rainy, it didn't stop us doing what we planned - a bit of fishing, a drive up the beach to Rainbow Beach, and drinks with our fellow KOGgers, etc. For those who left on Sunday, Monday was a fantastic day - cleared up nicely!
  20. Hi Ann, We've used the green but have recently switched to the blue to try it out. We've found it seems to breakdown the "goods" a lot better and doesn't smell anywhere near as much when emptying - I wouldn't go so far to say it has made it a pleasant experience I look forward to, but it is no longer a bother. Seems to be a stronger mixture but without the odour. We tried some enviromentally safe "chemical" once and that was disasterous! Also tried the tablets and wasn't pleased with the results there either. Haven't tried Biomagic. We'll stick with the blue. Why not give it a try - under $10 for 1 litre (I think - could be 2 litre) bottle at BCF - what have you got to lose?
  21. Bump to top. Worth the watch. Where to next year? Somewhere different, I hope.
  22. If we're talking cr*p, I'm in! LOL I always use gloves when emptying - hasn't had an accident yet but one day they'll pay off, I'm sure! Our gauge does start moving but not until about 3/4 full. This was the same on the last van. With the cassette removed, there's nothing left that would/should be messy, so I wouldn't have any problems having a feel around up there. I did read olive oil around the ring (on the cassette!) was recommended for lubrication, don't use mineral oils as they deteriorate the rubbber.
  23. I got caught once too - now I stop and think about what I'm doing - you get use to it. If you can think to pop the remote door, you'll see it in the mirror and you don't have to remember which side. "Do as I say, not as I do"
  24. I heard from a little birdy this afternoon that someone took delivery of a new born yesterday.... Come on guys, fess up... How is it?
  25. Zolle?? Do you have a real name? Just checked in my Feb 2007 build TE. The fridge supports are all screwed not stapled. I looked high and low for joints like in your photo but all were screwed to the frame. I did find a couple of stapled joints but these were only noggin style joints and the staples are not needed for support just to hold the timber in place. I can also see glue on these joints. Quite happy with the build standard of my van. If your not happy, I would think that discussing with Kedron initially would be the bext way for an amicable outcome rather than an attack on a public forum. I'm not sure where you're coming from with your last sentence, and don't think it was necessary. Certainly not the way to get any help/support from KOG members. David
