  1. Hi Barry and Shirley We have a 19 ft 6inch 2012 ATV and the tare is 2910kg, so you can expect about the same or more. A tare of 3000kg might be more realistic. Cheers Peter
  2. Sorry to here you won't be joining us. Murphy is alive and well. Peter and Margaret
  3. Hullo all. Margaret and I are in Alice Springs waiting to see you. Travel safe. Pete
  4. Hi Lesley It's so cold here in Alice Springs you won't need a fridge!!!! Hope you get it fixed. Peter and Margaret
  5. Hi Rick and Lea Sorry to hear you have had a tough month, things can only get better. Peter and Margaret in Alice Springs.
  6. Hi Margaret Lionel always puts his best foot forward!!!!!! Peter and Margaret in Alice Springs.
  7. Hi Rick and Lea Greetings from Alice Springs. It's a clear day, with a cold wind; we're for a cold night. Peter and Margaret
  8. Hi Geoff We have a grey water tank in our Kedron. You might want to consider installing a couple of HepVo valves somewhere in the inlet lines into the tank, these are a one way valve that prevent any smells, discharge etc coming back up into the plumbing system and into your caravan. You can buy them through Reece Plumbing or some other places. Incidentally, our Kedron was the first to have grey water tank, which I designed, installed at the build stage, and is the system now used by Kedron. Well done. Pete

    Van Polish

Hi Rick I don't believe the coloured cladding on our Kedrons has a clear coat. The aluminium cladding is powered coated during its manufacturing process and comes out in a role or an extrusion. Modern cars have a clear coat, or several cler coats, over the base colour to enhance the shine and 'depth' of colour. You may have seen older cars where the clear coat has been perforated resulting in a peeling on the clear coat. I use a truck ' wash and wax' and it seems to do the job. Pete
  10. Hi Russ and Sue We'll have to practice on you guys first before we go down to see Phil!!!!!! Peter and Margaret
  11. Hi Guys We might be there for Anzac Day, but that's depending on the roads to Birdsville and then down the Track to Marree. Any first hand knowledge on road conditions would be welcome, leaving Brisbane about 17 April. Cheers Peter and Margaret
  12. Thanks for that Colin. I think a convoy of our size will hardly go unnoticed by the authorities. It would be a pretty safe bet that when we get our Permits stamped at Yulara/ Ularu or arrive at the first roadhouse for fuel, the bush telegraph (phones) will let people know down the track of our journey. Pete
  13. Hi Colin I think we should use our discretion on this issue. I don't think having a glass of wine at dinner within the privacy of one's van would be a problem, whereas sitting outside or in a group having happy hour would attract some sort of intervention by the authorities and that would certainly be a problem for all concerned. Pete
  14. We know where you are, you've had Happy Hour with our friends Graham and Cheryl on the banks of the Gwydir River. Peter and Margaret
  15. Thanks for that Geoff. Pete
  16. Hullo Colin Margaret and I plan to be in Central Australia the same time. If you have a space, we would like to do the Yulara to Laverton leg of the trip with our ATV for two. Some of our friends on the list have been twisting our arms!!!!!!! Cheers Peter
  17. Hi Geoff. I spoke to several ARB dealers in the Brisbane area about the GVM increase for my LC200 series. They all said that although the modification increases the GVM on the LC200 series, it decreases the towing capacity accordingly so that the gross combination mass (GCM) remains the same. So I'm confused!!!! Pete
  18. Happy New Year everyone and stay safe. We'll catch up with Rod and Mavis on the Australia Day Weekend. Cheers Peter and Margaret
  19. Merry Christmas everyone. Wherever you are or wherever you go, have a safe and happy day tomorrow. Peter and Margaret.
  20. Hi Mark. I investigated this path when in Sydney recently. Lithium battery's are extremely expensive, as are most technology advanced items. A Braille lithium battery I looked at was over $3000 but only weighed about 15kg, these are imported from the USA and are used used in many racing yachts to reduce weight. The dealer I spoke too at Warriwood said a special charger/ regulator has to be used, or the battery could explode!!!!!! I think the price will come down as time goes on, but I would be very careful of 'cheepies' Cheers Peter
  21. Hi Bryan We had an Oyster fully auyomatic system on our first ATV for two with great results all around Australia, it was the logical choose for our second ATV42. Pete
  22. Hi Reece We had one fitted to our new ATV for two during the build; without the key one would have to do serious damage to the van to remove it. Depending on your layout, somewhere in the pantry or under the bed could be a good spot. Cheers Peter
  23. Hi Colin. Just a few facts here that might help. We took delivery of our 1st ATV for two in May 2003 and our 2nd in January 2012, the chassis numbers varied by 980. Regards Peter ATV42

    Generator

Hi Reece. This is a common problem, but not readily told to consumers. Take to a Yamaha dealer for a 'spring adjustment' and it's covered under warranty. Peter
  25. That looks like one of the old caravans we saw at the Blackall Wool Scour. Cheers Peter
