1x 250grpack of Salada Biscuits 200grms Butter 185grm (1 cup) soft brown sugar 1 tsp vanilla essence Generous pinch of salt 200gr dark chocolate chopped Turn oven to 180 degrees. Line a baking tray (approx 300x250cm) with foil then baking paper. Lay out Saladas in a single layer to fit the tray. The Caramel - melt the butter and sugar together in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally for about five minutes until it is thick and "gloopy". Stir in vanilla and salt. Take the caramel off the heat and quickly our it over the Saladas. Smooth with spatula. Put tray in oven for 15 minutes until the caramel has darkened. Remove from oven and cool for a few minutes, then sprinkle the chopped chocolate over the toffee. As the chocolate melts spread it evenly over the base. (Some cut up pistachios sprinkled on top can be a festive addition). Allow your "Crack" to cool then snap into pieces - any odd shape will do and store in an airtight container in the frig. ENJOY!! A man had been drinking at a pub all evening, and by the time the bartender rang for final orders he was totally bladdered. He stood up to leave and promptly fell flat on his face. A second attempt ended in the same result, so he figured he'd crawl outside and get some fresh air and maybe that would sober him up. Once outside he stood up and fell flat on his face once more. Giving it up as a bad job he decided to crawl the mile to his home. When he arrived at his front door he stood up and again fell flat on his face. He crawled indoors, up the stairs and into his bedroom. When he reached his bed he tried one last time to stand up. This time he managed to pull himself upright, but he quickly fell onto bed and was sound asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow. He was awakened the next morning to his wife standing over him. "So, you've been out drinking again!" she shouted. "What makes you say that?" he asked, putting on an oh-so-innocent look. "The pub called. You left your wheelchair there."

We have set up camp at Gumtree Lodge, Howard Qld for a couple of nights to celebrate the New Year. This time we have gone upmarket with a deck site. It is lovely enjoying the breeze off the water and watching the turtles, ducks and water hens. They do forecast storms, however hoping they stay further west from us. We are camped at a drop dead gorgeous beach camp at Port Gibbon on SA’s Eyre Peninsula. Called Serenity (talk about well named) it has a view from our van that is unrivalled. The cost is $15 a night, and the only facilities are rubbish bins. Mobile phone reception is OK, but not brilliant. But we have Starlink and Celfi Go so that’s all good.

After years of traveling with our Kedron all over Australia, I didn't realise how much you get used to the luxury of a van. Recently we had to make a hurried trip to Queensland. I flew and Paul drove as we knew we would need the car for anything up to six weeks. Having only the day before returned from Europe we had no time to get the van prepared before we urgently had to be in Queensland. On our return trip, I knew I was going to have to go 'camping'. Didn't really realise what this would entail until we got on the road. School holidays and the PGA tour in Kalgoorlie meant that we couldn't get accommodation at some places. We drove past most free camps with our tent in the car, and only used Baxters Rest stop because it had a toilet. I kept looking out the window going we could stop there or there or there. Staying in Broken Hill during 30 hours of rain was not fun, and at 11pm we had to move to a Motel because we were ringing wet. The Kedron doesn't leak I thought. My sister and children are sure that Paul took me camping so I would appreciate the van more. We managed to get three days at Elliston S.A. Only drizzled there, but by now we had learnt a few things on how to cope without 'Q' (our Kedron). Our last night on the road was in Kalgoorlie. Our site was concrete - all concrete so pitching the tent was interesting. Besser bricks may have come into play to hold the tent in place. This time we were smarter, and got an en suite in case it rained, we would have somewhere to run to if this happened. When we got home to Perth I went out and gave the Kedron a cuddle. Hopefully in the future we will be able to get out for some short trips. My dad is coming over for a few months soon, and Paul thinks that at 87 he can go with us and stay in the tent. Stop laughing I haven't found a way to break it to him that dad would probably get our bed and we will be back out in the tent. We will see, we will see.

The girl blushed, then took his hand and put it on her knee. Then he blushed. Then the two turned once again to gaze out over the loch before the girl spoke again. “Another penny for your thoughts, Angus?” The young man glanced down with a furrowed brow. “Well, noo” he said “my thoughts are a wee bit more serious this time”. “Really?” said the lass in a whisper, filled with anticipation. “Aye” said the lad, nodding. The girl looked away in shyness, began to blush, and bit her lip in anticipation of the ultimate request. Then he said “Dae ye nae think it’s aboot time ye paid me the first three pennies?”

Hi all, We had a new 23'6 JB Dirt Road Extreme but sold it last year and decided to buy a 2009 21' Kedron ATV-2 instead. Although the weights are similar, it is smaller and will be easier to manoeuvre, as well as being more robust. We will be taking it on its first trip (with us) to Yeppoon in a couple of weeks. Look forward to seeing how it goes.

All going well, we plan to leave here at home in SA on Friday, for our annual migration to warmer places. It has been a much later start this year as we had family related stuff to do here. Our plan is to head North to Alice Springs and then West across the Great Central Road to WA. Our itinerary takes us North up the Oodnadatta Track after a few days around Clare then the Flinders Ranges. We should head off from Yulara on the GCR on 27 June. I think we will stay the night at Curtin Springs before hand. The van's wheel bearings have been greased, the floors washed, bed made, and some food already in the van. I can't wait to enjoy warmer weather! Will we see any of you out and about on these roads?

It was late in the day when a fully loaded minivan pulled into the only remaining campsite. As soon as it stopped, the doors flew open and four children jumped out. They began to unload gear and worked feverishly to set up the tent. Next, the boys ran to gather firewood while the girls and their mother set up the camp kitchen area. The camper in the space next to them marveled to the children’s father, “I’ve never seen such teamwork nor a camp that was ready so quickly. I’m impressed.” The father turned to the neighbor and nodded sagely. “I have a system,” he said. “No one goes to the bathroom before the camp is set up.”

Air bags, or heavier rear springs, do not re-distribute weight, and that is why steering will be floaty. I used a weight distribution hitch on the 100 series, and am now using it on the 300. On a recent trip the ball weight was 330 kg and as at all times using the WDH there is no difference in the feeling of the steering from when not towing. The steering is responsive and positive. There is an unfortunate lack of understanding as to how WDHs work.

Just replaced the old nylon red dust impregnated insect screens on the 2012 Kedron ATV. Well actually, Paul & Vanessa at “Swap & Stop Midge Screens did!!!! They did a great job and we are very pleased with the results. Recommend Paul & Vanessa’s service! Based in Caloundra, they arrive at your site (we used Dicky Beach Caravan Park) first thing. They remove all the blind/screen window fittings, take them away, replace the insect screens, clean up the blinds, fix up any small tears and return early afternoon to refit on your van, like brand new! A nice quiet spot on the River Murray SA, near Berri. Site 5, at Lyrup Flats. It is a national park (Murray River National Park), NE of Adelaide. And although it’s a national park, it is dog friendly in this section. Lovely weather and equally lovely view. And no one else in cooee. The small town of Lyrup is just across the river on a ferry ride, and has a great tavern with meals.

Hi all, I have a 2011 TopEnder with a shower/toilet combo. The shower mixer tap is starting leak. Before I go and remove the tap I just wanted to know if the mixer tap is a special caravan mixer tap or will I be able to replace or find parts from the local plumbing outlet? Has anyone had to fix or replace the shower mixer tap? Please let me know of any problems removing it or obtaining replacement parts. Thanks in advance Rob

We replaced our shower mixer tap some years ago. Just bought normal one from plumbing show. Haven't had a problem since.

This morning over here at Port Lincoln we are having new running boards (steps) put on the Landcruiser. It will make getting in and out of the car easier. Let’s be honest, it’s for me, not Val. He has no trouble getting into the car. I find after the Lovells upgrade, which raised the body of the car, it is a pain to haul myself up into the car. When the car door is opened the steps will lower, and when the door is closed they will raise. They are called Clearview Powerboards, and are not cheap. But will be worth it. We have had two Kedron Vans both have had two Sirocco fans fitted. I think they are fantastic until they need cleaning. Not sure of what happened to the directions on how to clean them. With the help of Google "Cleaning Sirocco Fans" I found a couple You Tube videos. Suddenly the task of cleaning the fans became a pleasure. If you hate cleaning the fans, do yourself a favour and do what I did and watch the demo. I will no longer have to look at a dirty fan.

It’ll be fine. We had a 2009 ATV2 for 9 years before upgrading to the new AT5. Went everywhere including Gibb River Road, Tanami Track etc. Very happy with it and the great service we received from the Gall Boys 👌

I was going to say "Barry sent me" but he may charge you double!! Not likely. Highly recommended. Thanks for approving our membership. We're currently shopping for a used van. Have not yet decided on a Kedron but is on the shortlist. Just waiting for settlement from insurance as our last van and shed were burnt to a crisp. Will be working through owners observations to learn as much as possible about Kedron vans.

Irish Furniture Dealer Murphy, a furniture dealer from Dublin, decided to expand the line of furniture in his store, so he decided to go to Paris to see what he could find . After arriving in Paris , he visited with some manufacturers and selected a line that he thought would sell well back home. To celebrate the new acquisition, he decided to visit a small bistro and have a glass of wine. As he sat enjoying his wine, he noticed that the small place was quite crowded, and that the other chair at his table was the only vacant seat in the house. Before long, a very beautiful young Parisian girl came to his table , asked him something in French (which Murphy could n o t understand) , so he motioned to the vacant chair and invited her to sit down. He tried to speak to her in English, but she did not speak his language. After a couple of minutes of trying to communicate with her, he took a napkin and drew a picture of a wine glass and showed it to her. She nodded, so he ordered a glass of wine for her. After sitting together at the table for a while, he took another napkin, and drew a picture of a plate with food on it, and she nodded. They left the bistro and found a quiet cafe that featured a small group playing romantic music. They ordered dinner, after which he took another napkin and drew a picture of a couple dancing. She nodded, and they got up to dance. They danced until the cafe closed and the band was packing up. Back at their table, the young lady took a napkin and drew a picture of a four-poster bed. To this day, Murphy has no idea how she figured out he was in the furniture business

A Priest was being honored at his retirement dinner after 25 years in the parish. A leading local politician and member of the congregation was chosen to make the presentation and to give a little speech at the dinner. However, since the politician was delayed, the Priest decided to say his own few words while they waited: "I got my first impression of the parish from the first confession I heard here. I thought I had been assigned to a terrible place. The very first person who entered my confessional told me he had stolen a television set and, when questioned by the police, was able to lie his way out of it. He had stolen money from his parents, embezzled from his employer, had an affair with his boss's wife, taken illegal drugs and gave VD to his sister. I was appalled. But as the days went on, I learned that my people were not all like that and I had, indeed, come to a fine parish full of good and loving people." Just as the Priest finished his talk, the politician arrived full of apologies at being late. He immediately began to make the presentation and gave his talk: "I'll never forget the first day our parish Priest arrived, said the politician. I MADE THIS AGAIN FOR OUR MAY DAY KILKIVAN GATHERING, ONCE AGAIN A SUCCESS . Try this lovely Apple slice, easy to make with minimal ingredients. If you don't have an oven in your van I'm sure it could be cooked in the Webber. APPLE SLICE Base - 1 pkt vanilla or butter cake mix ( I use the generic brand ones from Woolworths or Coles) 1 cup coconut 125 gms melted butter Filling - 1 410gm tin pie apple Topping - 1 carton light sour cream Cinnamon Mix together Base ingredients and press into a greased 7"x11" tin, cook in a moderate oven for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and spread pie apple over the base, then spread sour cream over the apple and sprinkle with cinnamon. Return to oven and cook for a further 15 minutes. Slice when cold.

Recently our TPMS saved us a tyre on our caravan . Since we have had the TPMS on our car and caravan it has saved us 4 tyres in the last 8 years. However 2 of these tyre deflations have been from the stem valve splitting at its base. I am wondering if this is caused from the excess movement of the stem valve as a result of the extra weight of the TPM attached to the top of the valve. Has any one else had this problem and if so how did you remedy this from future happenings. Thanks in advance. Rod

Hi Rod Our van has Safety Dave TPMS, and I'm unsure where I gained this bit of advice however, it is to have a small wedge of semi flexible foam tucked in between the valve stem and the rim. My concern was that the weight of the TPMS would be pulled by centrifugal force on the valve stem at speed. From time to time the wedges work their out and so I carry a few spares. Barry

Hi Rich I know others have said they replaced their screens themselves, but we had our caravan door & window screens replaced with black midge mesh by Paul and Vanessa Archer - Swap & Stop Midge Screens. Welcome to the forum. As you can see (Events - far right shows notification, in financial members area gives details) we have a gathering on the 14th to 17th of July at one of the Kedron Owners Group members private property's at Kilkivan. Since it is only in the financial members area you would have become a member first. Sometimes we do have gatherings for financial and non financial members. Enjoy your Kedron, we have had ours for nine years so far and done many rough/bitumen miles in it.

When Kedron replaced the Dometic in our 2014 XC3 they removed the door frame to do so, although apparently the bedside window is big enough for the fridge to fit through, although more muscle and care would be needed. You would need to check dimensions of new and old.

It is with sadness we inform KOG Members of the passing of Peter Cross “Crossy”this morning. Peter struggled with the effects of mesothelioma for many years. Peter was a member of the group prior to its incorporation and he and his wife Glenys attended many of our gatherings. Peter is survived by his wife and daughters Angela and Melissa. His big heart and larrikin sense of humour will be sadly missed.

Hi all, One other thing I forgot to say, Just before heading off, we had the Cruiser serviced and the tyres were rotated. Now the 3/4 worn tyres are on the front and the 1/4 worn tyres are on the rear. Maybe the worn tyres have a problem. The tyres are Goodyear Wranglers All Terrain. I have been using this brand and model tyres for years without a problem. I have booked the car in for a tyre rotation again and balance and alignment, will see if this solves the swaying/light steering. Cheers Rob in Hahndorf Caravan Park

With Tom's help I resolved the problem by forcing a cold reset of the C40. To do this, remove the front cover, then disconnect the red and black leads that go to the battery and -ve van shunt respectively. Leave 10 minutes, then reconnect and wait for the unit to reset, at which time the charge light starts blinking again Hope this is helpful to someone else in the future.
